SYMPTOMS:
Chiropractic is firmly established as a primary healthcare profession. According to the American Chiropractic Association, approximately 7% - 16% of people in the U.S. seek treatment each year. Our profession has earned recognition for its remarkable effectiveness and its focus on natural, drug-free and non-invasive methods of treatment. There are many conditions that chiropractic effectively relieves. Listed below are some of these symptoms and conditions:
Pain is only one symptom (usually the last) that indicates that something in the body is not working properly. Other symptoms of nerve interference manifest in the form of organ dysfunction and respiratory, digestive and immune system conditions. If the problems that are caused by nerve interference are treated with medication, only temporary relief, if any, will be experienced. The cause needs to be addressed. Many times the cause may be contributed by nerve interference (subluxation), the exact condition chiropractors treat directly. All of these conditions and symptoms are relieved or cured as a byproduct of the misalignment of vertebra being moved and the body functioning at its optimal levels.
TREATMENT
What to expect on your first visit. . .
When you call to make your initial appointment, you will be scheduled at the earliest, most convenient time. Dr. Keller tries to get you in on the same day. You will be given the options of having the forms faxed to you or filling them out in our office. You should expect to spend approximately one hour at the initial visit.
Consultation. . .
The doctor will do a detailed consultation. This will include discussing your chief complaints and a complete medical, family and social history. This is so the doctor can get the most information and give you the best recommendation for care possible.
Examination. . .
A spinal examination, including orthopedic and neurological evaluation, will be performed. This will help the doctor determine what is affecting or causing your complaint and / or condition.
Diagnostic Testing. . .
At the doctor's discretion, x-rays will be taken. The test will help clarify what is causing your condition. Not all patients need to have this diagnostic test completed. Dr. Keller will discuss this with the patient before any x-rays are taken.
Report of Findings. . .
After all paperwork, examinations and diagnostic testing are completed, Dr. Keller will sit down with you and discuss his finding and diagnosis. He will also talk to you about his recommendation for care.
Chiropractic Treatment. . .
If, after the report of findings, chiropractic care is recommended and you decide to accept Dr. Keller's treatment plan, treatment will begin. Treatment will include spinal adjustments. Dr. Keller also does extremity adjusting if needed. Adjunctive therapies also may be incorporated, including EMS, Cryotherapy or heat therapy, flexion distraction, mechanical / manual traction, massage therapy or ultrasound. Dr. Keller also does exercise programs, nutritional counseling, ergonomic education and exercise therapy. Each patient is treated on an individual basis, so the treatment plan will be unique to your situation.
